David L. Niemeier, Ph.D
Dr. Niemeier is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Health Services Provider Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in helping people with personal, family and psychological problems. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. He interned at Pine Rest Christian Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He received a post graduate certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Washington School of Psychiatry and has had additional training in object relations family therapy. Dr. Niemeier is a Fellow and Past President of the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists. He is Past Chairman of the Virginia Board of Psychology, a member of the American Psychological Association, the Virginia Psychological Association, the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists and the North Carolina Psychological Association. He is a winner of the American Psychological Association’s Karl Heiser Presidential Award and the Social Security Administration, Associate Commissioner’s Honor Award. He has been published in the American Psychological Association journal Psychotherapy and has given presentations at state and national conferences on issues related to physical and mental disabilities. He specializes in treatment of depressive and anxiety disorders in adults and adolescents, in treatment of marital problems, in psychological assessment of disabling mental conditions and in the psychotherapeutic treatment of personality problems. He has extensive training and experience in Christian counseling. He also has extensive experience in working with information technology professionals and individuals with internet and sexual addictive disorders.
