Francie E. Hartsog, M.A. LPC-S, has over twenty-five years of experience in the counseling field. She graduated from Marshall University and holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling, with specializations in Marriage & Family Counseling and Community Mental Health. She is a former clinical faculty member of West Virginia University and a member of The American Counseling Association. She is a Member of The Adlerian Society, as well as The Licensed Professional Counseling Association of North Carolina. Francie uses an integrative approach when working with families, using observation, education, cooperation & participation.

After university, Francie completed her residency under the supervision of Khalid Hasan, M.D., Board Certified Psychiatrist in Beckley, WV. Francie worked in both private practice with Dr. Hasan at Raleigh Psychiatric Services, Inc. and in the Behavior Science Unit at Appalachian Regional Hospital. She participated in daily grand rounds as well as emergency room crisis call. Francie worked with a variety of patients, including patients with chronic psychiatric illnesses, substance abuse, and teens.

In 2001, Francie accepted a position at West Virginia University as a Clinical Faculty Member. She spent five years teaching and working with faculty and staff at The Center of Excellence of Disabilities. Francie moved to Charlotte in 2009 and after sabbatical, she started working again in private practice. In 2015, she became a grandmother and considered retiring but decided she loves her work too much to stop, so she joined Horizon Psychological Services in 2017.


Horizon Psychological Services serves the Charlotte Metro Area, including Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Lake Norman, and surrounding Communities.
