stutts picture 1 Lauren Stutts, Ph.D. received her B.S. in Psychology at Davidson College (2005) and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Florida (2010). She completed her predoctoral internship at the Medical College of Georgia/Charlie Norwood VA Hospital (2009-2010) and her postdoctoral fellowship at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital (2010-2011). Subsequently, she served as a staff psychologist at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital until summer 2012. She joined the Davidson faculty as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology in Fall 2012 and Horizon Psychological Services in Winter 2012.

Dr. Stutts’ specialty area is in health/medical psychology with a focus on cardiac, pain, weight loss, and rehabilitation populations. She also has worked frequently with individuals with anxiety, depression, and adjustment to life change. She is trained in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviews, neuropsychological assessments, and health behavior assessments. Her intervention experiences include primarily cognitive-behavioral therapy, health behavior interventions, mindfulness techniques, and positive psychology techniques. She has extensive experience in individual and group therapy.

Dr. Stutts is a member of the American Psychological Association, North Carolina Psychological Association, and Mecklenburg Psychological Association. Within the APA, she is a member of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology division and the Health Psychology division.


Horizon Psychological Services serves the Charlotte Metro Area, including Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Lake Norman, and surrounding Communities.
