Meet Our Team of Therapists and Diagnosticians

Melissa Mascari, M.A.

Melissa Mascari, M.A., LPA, HSP-PA is a psychological associate and Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). She earned her Masters degree in School Psychology from Western Carolina University. She has almost 18 years of experience providing psychological servicesâ€”including evaluations, counseling, crisis response.

Mary Beth Bechtel, M.Ed.

Mary Beth Bechtel, M.Ed. is an Educational Diagnostician and licensed teacher with experience educating and evaluating children (grades Pre-K to 12). She earned a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from George Mason University and an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Hood College.

Sandra D. Jackson, MSW

Sandra D. Jackson, MSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) providing clinical social work therapy to children (ages 8-12), adolescents, and adults. She practices under the supervision of her North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board approved Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Michael Youron, M.A.

Michael R. Youron, M.A., is an independently licensed psychological associate (LPA). With over 40 years of experience in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings, Mr. Youron brings a wealth of professional experience to the therapy room and to his interactions with his clients. Prior to relocating to the Lake Norman area in 2009.

Manisha M. Parekh, Ph.D., ABPP

Manisha M. Parekh, Ph.D., ABPP, the director of Horizon Psychological Services, received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She completed her predoctoral internship at Childrenâ€™s Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital, both in Dallas.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychological assessment
