Psychological Testing & Evaluation

Psychological evaluation is the process of assessing an individual, through a combination of a clinical interview and the administration of psychological tests, in order to better understand the individual’s cognitive and/or personality functioning. This evaluation can help determine whether an individual has a particular clinical problem or diagnosis, as well as in helping to create an appropriate plan for psychological treatment.

Child and Adult Educational Evaluation

Is your child struggling to complete or keep up with class assignments? Is homework a stressor? Do you suspect your child has a possible learning disability? Is your child not being challenged and provided with instruction to match their ability?

Therapy for Depression

When we talk about depression, we can be talking about one of a couple of different things. Depression can be a word used to describe feeling down or feeling sad and not feelings quite like one’s self, or it can be used to describe Major Depressive Disorder, a clinical psychological condition that affects a person’s mood, energy, thinking, sleep, and motivation.

Pre-surgical Bariatric Evaluation

For most individuals, the evaluation is a process that leads to the development or suggestion of interventions, such as participating in a support group, that are meant to enhance the response to bariatric surgery. In a small number of cases, the evaluation leads to the diagnosis of an acute psychological illness, such as depression.

Play Therapy

Play therapy enables children to use play in much the same way as adults use words in counseling. Talking is an adult’s natural way of communicating; play is a child’s natural way of communicating. The play therapist provides a safe and understanding environment with a variety of special toys for the child to communicate.
