Melissa Mascari, M.A.

Melissa Mascari, M.A., LPA, HSP-PA is a psychological associate and Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). She earned her Masters degree in School Psychology from Western Carolina University. She has almost 18 years of experience providing psychological services—including evaluations, counseling, crisis response, and parent/teacher consultation and training—for children and adolescents ages 3-21 years old. Ms. Mascari is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for adolescents and she is a Certified Resiliency Educator through Resources for Resilience. She also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when working with clients. Ms. Mascari has a special interest in working with neurodiverse individuals and their caretakers. She also enjoys working with families to manage screen time and app use.

Ms. Mascari is a member of the Mecklenburg Psychological Association (MPA), the North Carolina Psychological Association (NCPA), The North Carolina School Psychology Association (NCSPA), and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).

In her free time, Ms. Mascari enjoys spending time with her family including camping, hiking, biking and kayaking. As a former New Englander, Ms. Mascari enjoys her annual summer escape to the Northeast! When it comes to reading, Melissa is known to ditch novels for a deep dive into psychology topics in her interest of the month (although she won’t turn down a good Caleb Carr novel!).
