Therapy and Psychological Testing Rooted In Concord

Concord is one of the largest and fastest-growing cities in the Charlotte metro area, serving as the seat of Cabarrus County with a population of approximately 115,000 residents. Known for its family-friendly neighborhoods, strong school systems, and attractions like Charlotte Motor Speedway and Concord Mills, the city draws a diverse mix of working professionals, young families, and long-term residents who value both community and convenience. While Concord offers stability and opportunity, emotional and psychological challenges are a significant part of life for many. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than one in five adults in the United States lives with a mental illness each year, and growing cities like Concord are no exception. Cabarrus County is home to over 240,000 people, and local health data highlights the prevalence of mental health concerns. County-level surveys indicate that depression affects roughly 23 percent of residents and approximately 17 percent report frequent poor mental health days, as tracked by the Cabarrus Health Alliance. Applied to Concord’s population, these figures suggest tens of thousands of residents may be managing persistent emotional strain. For busy professionals and families, stress often compounds from career demands, commuting, financial responsibilities, and maintaining strong relationships while managing a full schedule. Psychological testing can be especially valuable for those who want a deeper understanding of attention patterns, emotional processing, or behavioral concerns affecting work, school, or relationships. Emotional challenges rarely arrive all at once. They tend to build gradually — through disrupted sleep, declining motivation, increased tension at home, or a persistent sense of running on empty. Relationship stress often deepens when partners struggle to communicate under pressure or when unspoken frustrations go unaddressed. Horizon Psychological Services provides therapy and psychological testing for individuals, couples, and families in Concord and across Cabarrus County. Our licensed clinicians use evidence-based methods to address anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, and relational challenges. Comprehensive psychological evaluations are available to clarify diagnoses, inform treatment planning, and support lasting personal growth. Services are available through secure virtual sessions and in-person appointments, providing flexible care that fits your life.
Horizon Psychological Services provides a safe space for children and teens to improve their communication skills with their peers and families. We work with students to help them better understand and manage their emotions in healthy and productive ways.
